Stumbled upon a fantastic hor fun gem at Chinatown Complex Food Centre. The $5 portion is generous with plenty of ingredients, bursting with rich wok hei and well-balanced flavours. Truly an honest hawker serving delicious food at great value — plus friendly service. Highly recommended!

Wandering aimlessly in busy hawker centre on a Saturday afternoon, I stumbled upon a crowd of elderly folks gathered around a stall. It was a sure sign of something good, so I joined the queue. Turns out, my gut feeling was right! The prices were way lower than I expected, and the menu was way more extensive than your average fish soup stall. I went for the classic sliced fish soup with minced meat, upgraded to a larger portion and added rice for just $5.50. The broth was a winner – light and sweet, perfect for cooling down in this crazy hot weather. The sliced batang fish was alright, a bit overdone in some parts, but still fresh. They didn’t skimp on the minced meat and veggies, and I was pleasantly surprised to find bitter gourd without extra cost! Overall, this fish soup was a really good find. Great value for money! Oh, and they accept CDC vouchers too.

Very Affordable n Healthy fish /seafood soup. Clear soup not v salty. Packed with seafood n minced pork. Good value. This era where to find $5/ big bowl of soup with lots of minced lean pork, and 50c full bowl of white rice?!! Pic also shows fish porridge. Some may not know “porridge” here is actually rice in the soup. Teo Chew style. The hawker lady is a kind soul. She brings the food to the old pple/ customers although it is self service. Kind hawker shld be rewarded with praises. Can’t praise the cook (a tall man) though. Once I had to order from him. Didn’t appreciate him at all. Grouchy n rude.

Mince meat fish slice soup is a must have when you are in Chinatown hawker centre. I chance upon this stall when YouTuber Master Leong mentioned it in his channel. Ingredients are generous and very delicious. Must try in Chinatown! Thumbs up!

Always long queue during lunch hour, very affordable and healthy fish slice soup with minced pork and loads of vege for only $5, no wonder the long queue. They are very generous with the ingredients. Will always dabao 2 soups for dinner after having my lunch there. Many seniors also most definitely order their fish head soup with a bowl of rice. For the seniors, the friendly lady owner will serve it to them at their table instead of letting them stand and wait. Really respect such stall owners who help the seniors.
