169 Chicken Rice @ Chinatown Complex Food Centre One of the standout dishes at Chinatown Complex Food Centre, 169 Chicken Rice delivers a truly satisfying plate of Hainanese chicken rice. The rice is perfectly cooked—aromatic, slightly sticky, and full of flavour. The steamed white chicken is tender, succulent, and naturally sweet, enhanced beautifully by a drizzle of their special soy-based sauce. Paired with their punchy chilli sauce, every bite is deliciously balanced. At just $5 for a regular portion, it’s a must-try for any chicken rice lover.

This is my go to stall for Hainanese Chicken Rice when I am in Chinatown area. Seldom u have a stall that hits ALL 3 things: Chicken, Rice, Chilli Sauce. They use kampung chicken which to me is more flavorful and flesh has more bite than normal chicken. And it’s not bloody. Their rice is flavorful, firm and not mushy/ broken grains. And chilli sauce is spicy and not those sweet type. Try go early, 11+am, else be prepared to Q. A favorite among Indonesian Chinese tourist. And stall always sell out by 230~3pm.

One of the worst presentations for Chicken Rice, it’s a shame that they use disposable plate and even cutleries also using disposable da bao style, to make things worst, they provide chopsticks 🥢 and disposable spoon!!! What a shame to present this “national” dishes to the world, this place is a tourist destination. It just gave patron the feeling that they are not interested to serve a nice dish of Chicken Rice! No wonder there’s no Q at the stall! 🤦🏻‍♂️

i am so sad to grief the loss of my favourite chicken rice stall. i tot this place is my ride or die for life. but rn im just terribly disappointed. i am literally so sad that i have to go hunt for another favourite chicken rice place. this place used to be my happy place. i know sound very exaggerate but everytime i feel sad and my bf and his dad bring me here to eat i feel very very happy. like the meal was so satisfying. everytime someone says they want to eat chicken rice i will recommend this place. the chicken rice was the best rice i’ve ever tasted. however it all changed when it was taken over by what one of the comments say is his brother?? idk man the rice is off the chicken is off the sauce is off and the soup omg… i haven’t been here for months cos life came in the way so i was really craving this chicken rice and when we finally came and i was so excited to eat chicken rice. but the moment i tasted the soup i knew something was off like bruh i used to be like “MMmmMmMm” at the first taste but bruhhh i was left overwhelmed… upset… disappointed…. just finished eating and felt soooo unsatisfied :( i went to the stall n ask the auntie like did this place change people and she said no but I HIGHLY SUS LEH cos like they ripped the paynow QR code and only accept cash now!!! also the queue has shortened by A LOT of it seems like more and more tourists and patronising this shop??? very very sad SG60 and we lose this gem

Located inside a food centre near the escalator. This is one of the more popular chicken rice stall around which attracts long queues. Queue is usually long but it moves quite fast. The kampung chicken rice starts from $5 a plate. Chicken meat is decent and the staff will give a large plate of rice. I added on $2 internal organs and the portion is quite huge too. Chilli taste nice too when you add to the rice as it is slightly spicy. Overall it is a good place to eat and the portion of food is quite good.
