Flavourful fried kway teow with a smoky wok hei flavor. Competently fried, it's not too moist nor too dry. A solid plate of char kway teow but the standard is a little inconsistent at times.

I’m not really a fan of CKT but this plate of CKT was worth all the calories! Could taste the “wok hei” and the taste was just right. Not too oily too! A must-try if you are at this hawker centre!

Fried kway teow was overly mushy. Edible but totally didn’t do justice to the dish. Cash only.

Today, Kitty and I visited the hawker center at Chinatown on Smith Street. We came across a char kway teow stall with a long queue and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the experience was not as expected. The stall offered two options, a small portion for $4 and a large portion for $6. Opting for the $6 cockles version, we found the portion size to be adequate for two people, but the cockles were disappointingly small. The char kway teow lacked the signature wok hei flavor we were hoping for, and despite being served piping hot, it did not meet our expectations. The extended queue did not seem justified given the overall quality of the dish. Furthermore, the service left much to be desired in terms of friendliness and efficiency. One significant drawback was the stall's cash-only policy, as they did not accept Paylah, PayNow, or PayWave payments, which felt inconvenient in today's digital age. Due to the limited payment options and the underwhelming culinary experience, we can only award this stall a 3-star rating.

2024 Michellin Select Award for stalls in Chinatown area. Expect long queue during lunch time and weekend but worth the wait. You can have the Cockles version for $4 or the seafood for $6 (small size). A must try if you are in China town area. Note: Cash Only!
