Looks awesome, but the taste is a bit different from what I imagined I know that a toasted piece of rice will be there but what I got is just really burnt instead of a nice cracker like consistency. The provided utensils are also not good for extracting the tasty goodness at the bottom Been looking at other claypot rice in the area and they are no better than Guan Heng. So perhaps I just got the shorter end of the stick as far as my serving is concerned Tables in the immediate area are not that clean so I have to move a bit

This is my go-to stall for claypot rice. Nothing but good things to say for Guan Heng, considering their product consistency and price point - $7, $13, $20. Nice crispy rice jiufan at the bottom of the claypot - but you must quickly scrape the bottom layer of rice at the point when the dish is served, so as to stop over-charring the rice. Fold the crispy rice bits into the rest of the dish, add thick soya sauce and chilli, then enjoy. Closed on Sundays, Wednesdays & public holidays.

Tried this place as an alternative since the famous Claypot Rice was closed on Thursday. Ordered the salted fish claypot rice – personally found it a little too salty, though that’s expected with salted fish. The food overall is okay; probably a one-time try before moving on to explore other options. On the bright side, the lady serving was friendly and took the time to explain what we ordered, which made the experience warmer.

An underrated Chicken Claypot Rice in Chinatown. I was here at 2 pm and it was quiet. The owner is very attentive and I only had to wait for 15 minutes. The rice was cooked perfectly with a thin layer of rice stuck on the bottom of the claypot (as it should be). The meal had a lovely smokey aroma. The chicken was cooked beautifully, moist and tender. The Chinese sausages and Shiitake mushrooms were just cherries on top. It's very refreshing to taste the ginger every now and then. This place offers three sizes of the claypot, small, medium and large. The medium is enough for two people but I managed to finish it on my own because it was just heavenly. It's located inside the Chinatown Complex, behind the Temple. Do come and try, you will not be disappointed! I had to complement the chef before I left and it was received with smile and gratitude.

The taste is just average. Quite pricey for that portion. The plus point is no need to wait for more than an hour (compare to the other claypot rice stall in this food centre).
