Visited on a Sunday. Was dining in the hawker centre decided to look around for desserts. I saw this place on Google Maps closed on Sunday so decided to look for something else but then I walked past and it was opened! Had a look at the items on sale and was tempted to order a few to try but ended up making a slightly smart decision. Ordered a green bean soup with smelly grass, while for the other I asked for a mixture of 2 different pastes. First had the green bean soup. Some people may not like it because of the smelly grass. It's meant to give a herbal flavour which would make the soup slightly bitter. I loved the herbal taste of it and felt it's good to have because not many dessert shops would add this ingredient because of the bitterness and you only find it in very traditional places. Its meant to be good for help for expelling heat from the body. Next I had the paste mixture. I requested for almond and black sesame mixed so it looked a bit like the yin yang. I quite enjoyed it as it was very smooth and it's not sweet. The only thing that could be better was that pastes are meant to be hot but theirs was more on the lukewarm end. Would have preferred it hot. Many people walked past me and saw the interesting combination and also followed suit in ordering. I think its a wise choice you can to try 2 flavours in a dessert. Decent dessert, very old school style. Prices are also very reasonable hence it's worth giving a try.

Mother recommend this stall to me, saying this is one of the old school I should try. Previously they just had a makeshift store along chinatown street, when government revamp, they have to shift to the stall now in chinatown complex. Price is reasonable, and the taste is very good. I like it so much. I ate the black sesame paste. Not so sweet. The paste is gao gao! I like it 👌🏻

This dessert stall has been around for a very long time. Got to know about it when my mom told me about her favorite dessert stall in Chinatown complex. It has been almost 20 years since I had this and I've ordered my usual black sesame with almond paste. It has a rich flavour without the extra sugar in it. Totally loving it and will be back for more in the near future.
