Decided to give this stall a try, but the sauce didn’t quite hit the mark. The pork satay was decent, but I’ve had better. Overall, it was an average experience, nothing particularly memorable.

Specialises in charcoal-grilled chicken, pork and mutton satay, marinated with a mildly sweet and savoury spice blend. Each skewer is grilled over open flames for a smoky aroma and tender texture, and served with thick peanut sauce, cucumber slices and ketupat rice cakes. It is a popular choice for evening and supper diners.

Lim Yuan Satay is a popular tradition satay stall located at Bedok 85 Fengshan Food Centre. Uncle and aunties here are generally friendly and nice when you approach them. Satay wise, it comes in pork, mutton or chicken choices and all of them are priced at 80 cents per sticks, including the rice. I would say overall that the taste and flavours is slightly above average, the peanut sauce can be further improved though. However, when it comes to taste and preferences, everyone thinks differently. Do come and try it and see if you like the satay here! 😋

This used to be my “must-have” every time I dine there. This statement is no longer valid. At $0.90 a stick, it is very expensive for the amount of meat attached to each stick. (Look at the 2nd picture). So a 20-stick portion satay is literally $18 a plate. You can have better food quality and portion with that kind of value. The good takeaway is, there’s shorter waiting time (presumably due to the higher cost of each stick) Sadly, I will not patronize this stall anymore. If you do have the cravings of satay, you may try Jit Sing Satay at 208B New Upper Changi Rd Hawker.

The 3 star reviews are real. Average at best. Nothing fantastic or to shout about. Only plus, they are not so popular hence no queue and waiting times short.

Another recommendation by my brother. We ordered chicken and pork satay and the pork is so tender you wouldn’t be able to tell them apart! I realised the pork has a layer of fat in between the 2 portions of meat on the stick while the chicken doesn’t. The satay sauce is thick and delicious. Can literally drink it! (Which I did! 🤣). The rice taste really good too! Will be back!
