Yong Kee Different Taste Hainanese Chicken Rice

Tad disappointed, decided to try this as a lack of chicken rice choice in HL but guess it is just supply-demand. Value-wise pretty fair value at biggest portion 6$, you're given good portion of the chicken. But that's all about it, rice isn't particularly fragrance but do agree it is tad gluttonous which is not bad. The chicken isn't especially tender nor the sauce has any real impact, just oiled down soy sauce. The soup is quite hearty though!

Came by for lunch. Ordered a white chicken with Char Siew at $6 SGD comes with a bowl of soup. Soup comes with some cabbage which is nice, but the soup is overly salty to my liking. Chicken is tender despite served with the breast part. The jackpot to me is their char siew and rice. Char Siew sauce is glue thick, it is not just sweet and perhaps with other spices, star anise maybe? From the looks, they used a lean cut of pork, it does not taste tough or dry which is a big surprise to me. The rice has a familiar taste of old school. It is not oily, not the most aromatic but the grain texture and flavour does it for me. I would come back again for the Char Siew rice.

Very huge lunch crowd. However this chicken stall worth it, ate it since it's first generation at Alexandra Village. Personally love the white chicken, tender and come with transparent gelatine that explode in the mouth sometimes.

Amazingly Affordable and Delicious food. Located on the 2nd floor from the ground level this is a must try place. The staff were very helpful and sweet and the food was amazing. Highly reccomend the roasted chicken and rice as well as the pork with rice. After receiving your tray you can eat it on a little balcony area.

A really good plate of chicken rice. Very flavourful rice. Was a pleasant surprise find as there are not much stores open in the evening around 7pm. Chicken was really moist too.
