Went to try this popular wonton noodles stall to see if it was really as good as the reviews. Indeed! Lady owner was unassuming and prepared my items quite expediently. The wonton noodles (at only $4.50 for that portion!) was delicious (especially if you prefer your noodles to be slightly al-dente). The dumplings (水饺)were robust with alittle crunch due to the water chestnut bits. The laksa Yong Tau Fu is also a must-try. Try to be there before 11.30am if you want to beat the queue.

The star is the chicken cutlet of the Fried Chicken Curry Noodles. Delicious, crunchy and juicy. Noodles and curry also good, not too spicy. I would not get the fried wontons again, as they were a bit too salty for my liking. Would like to return to try the YTF. But the line is truly long and slow-moving.

Cantonese Delights - 廣東小吃 at Hong Lim Food Centre is a favourite among office workers and foodies who frequent this busy hawker centre. The stall has built its reputation around two standout dishes: the wanton mee and the fried curry chicken noodles. Their wanton mee comes with thin, springy noodles that are well-coated in a savoury sauce, slices of char siu, and wantons filled with juicy minced pork. It’s a simple but comforting classic that delivers both taste and texture. The fried curry chicken noodles, however, are the star attraction and the reason many customers queue. Unlike typical curry noodles, their version features fried noodles that are topped with a thick, flavourful curry gravy and tender pieces of chicken. The noodles soak up the rich curry, creating a unique combination that is both fragrant and hearty. The curry has just the right balance of spice and creaminess, making it satisfying without being overwhelming. With affordable prices and generous portions, Cantonese Delights has become a must-visit for those looking to enjoy nostalgic Cantonese-style flavours in the heart of the city. It’s the kind of stall where one dish isn’t enough, and regulars often return just to savour both signatures in one meal.

Finally got to try this extremely popular stall. Tough and dry char siew. Wanton not bad. Noodle texture firm and bouncy, good. Freeflow pork lard, good. Curry noodles with chicken cutlet, good. Price: $10 for both, acceptable. Portion: generous. Will I go back? No. Cantonese Delights Hong Lim Complex 02-03 531 Upper Cross Street Chinatown MRT Exit G

There are 3 curry noodles in this hawker centre and I like all of them. I think this stall has one of the longest queues during lunch time. The chicken cutlet is freshly fried and juicy. The Wantan noodles here is good too.
