[CHINATOWN, SINGAPORE] Yet another great find at Hong Lim Market! If you are a fishball noodle lover like me, you are going to love this one 🤤 I ordered the medium size portion of $6 and it came with 7 sizable fish and meatballs! They specialise in making handmade fishballs & meatballs, and I must say they are definitely a notch above the rest. The texture of the balls are delightfully bouncy, with the meatballs definitely much meatier. Both are well seasoned and were not too salty. The soup itself has an old school flavour, but can be a little too salty! If possible you can let them know you don't want the preserved salted vegetables. I actually love their noodles more, as they nailed both the texture and flavour. The noodles were satisfyingly chewy, with a bite that was really inviting. It was well seasoned with chilli that isn't too spicy and the amount of vinegar used was just right as well. I really can eat alot of the noodles by itself 😍 Ate this for lunch, and I was telling my colleagues that I can eat this for the entire week without a problem 😆 Note that this original Hong Xing does not have any other outlets, and their quality would not be represented by the other "outlets" you may find online!

5/5 for fishballs and meatballs👍👍👏👏😋😋 Hong Xing Handmade Fishball and Meatball Noodle @Hong Lim Market & Food Centre is a true gem for fresh, handmade fishballs and meatballs! No wonder the stall has a constant flow of (patient) customers lining up throughout our visit👍👍👏👏😋😋 Wonderfully made fishballs and meatballs are the star here! They're bouncy and have a unique middle ground texture not easily found elsewhere. Fishballs have the right soft springiness. There's a complex savouriness about the meatballs that are made from a perfect blend of minced pork, fish paste and iconic tee po (sun-dried flatfish bones), commonly used in authentic Teochew cuisine. Can taste the distinctive deep, smoky seafood flavor in each bite. Deliciously addictive and comforting👍👍👏👏😋😋 Decent bowl of dry mee pok, in terms of noodle doneness, flavor from chilli mixture and texture; not mind-blowing. Considering good fishballs and meatballs are hard to come by, let alone handcrafted ones, we'll be back for sure👍👍👏👏😋😋

There is certain magic to handmade fishballs that makes them so irresistible. And this stall has both handmade fishball and meatball. Be prepared for long queue. Perfect way to start the morning. This is also one of the few stalls that I will head to whenever I am at this food centre.

Been passing by this stall for the longest time and saw the queue that is alway there. This is the first time that I treat myself to try this fishball noodle and I was not disappointed, juat a bit surprised that the noodle i ordered really stand out in terms of the sauce , chilli, texture and tastes. The fishball and meatballs are good but not the best I had. Their noodle is one of the best I had. Hopefully the standard remain the same when I go back for more, not going to be too long as I am craving for that noodle now. Heehee

I remember this was my favourite fishball noodles 5 years ago, don’t know if it’s because I wasn’t hungry but I felt like the standard has dropped a little. Ordered the medium size one and I was slightly disappointed when I finished. Noodles were okay, but the fishball and meatball standard has dropped a little. Overall still a decent meal.
