Hainanese Curry Rice

Favourite curry rice in SG! The fried fish is amazing. Pricier than normal but definitely worth it.

This stall has excellent skills. They managed to slice the pork chop so thin till the pork skin I added on was thicker than the meat itself. Should call it pork slices instead of pork chop. Food portion is small in size but the old chap is big on attitude. Rude and arrogant. Taste is at best normal with nothing to shout about.

Unbelievably yummy!! And for only $7.30 for an Everything set very good worth! Rice soaked with generous curry gravy. Not spicy. Not oily. Curry vegetable soaked through and super soft. Braised pork super super tender. Pork chop crispy and although a little tough, the slightly 'burnt taste' is priceless. Chicken wing is incredible, meat just stripped itself off the bones. Fried egg is cherry on the cake. Can't believe have missed out this place for so long.

Been to Hong Lim Food Centre for many times but didn't realize there was this stall selling Hainanese curry rice. This stall is located at the same row as the popular wanton noodle stall. Stall wasnt busy, there was only a customer ahead of me. They have various sets from SGD$4.50 onwards. Apart from the standard sets, there were also various dishes for you to choose from. Ordered set 2, which was the pork Hainanese curry rice with pork cutlet. On top of that, i added the fried meatball which brings my meal to SGD$6.50. The curry and gravy was nice, pork cutlet was well seasoned and thin and portion was quite little to be honest. Fried meatball was pretty decent but slightly over on the sweet side. Overall, the hainanese curry rice was above average for me. Slightly expensive due to the portion. But wouldnt mind coming back again.

Torn between giving it a 4/5 stars, definitely in the middle of both for what it is. 💰 the only downside imo, though I did order prawns, pork balls and the fried beancurd skin - all of which adds up to $6.50 which I thought was rather pricey The dishes were nice though, literally no complains across any of those ingredients - curry was great too! Definitely in my list to eat when I’m in this hawker 👍🏻
