5 stars just for the food. It's a hawker centre so there is no atmosphere to really speak of, altho albert food center did get a reno recently so its better than before. It used to be dirtier. Its cleaner now. The queue for this is ALWAYS long. Because uncle and auntie only with no helpers. Given the queue and the amount people buy, i think auntie very efficient already. Its the sour style of soup base, with sour chilli. U can add your own garlic which is great for those of us who like garlicky chilli. Innards are clean. Not super generous with portions but generous with the celery leaf, which is a big plus for me bcos there are no veggies otherwise. I wont say the soup is the best i've ever had, but given how tasteless some stalls are, i think its really above average. The braised pork belly is fantastic with great sauce and a good amount of added veggies. Again, not super generous with portions for the price but really tasty. The sauce with rice is awesome and auntie always spoons it on the rice. The queue and the volume of braised pork belly that they sell is a sign that there's something there. Been having this for many years liao, a true blue singapore hawker centre food and this is one of the better ones. If u prefer a sweeter soup and sweet chilli head to mun chee kee or cheng mun chee kee.
