Satay Bee hoon are getting rare nowadays, but not many stalls selling it .Meng hui Satay Bee hoon at Albert market Food centre serves this classic dish for more than 35 yrs! You'll get a plate of bee hoon drenched in a thick, nutty & flavourful gravy. From $5.00 onwards, the Bee Hoon was generously filled with pork slices, pork Liver, cuttlefish,Taupok & cockles, a comfort food anytime! You can add extra ingredients (cockles/pork/cuttlefish)etc to your standard serving

Came across this stall while hunting for lunch at Albert Food Centre. Okay, "lunch" might not be actually correct because it's already 3.00 p.m., but there's still a short queue of 4 persons at the stall. Service is prompt, and the plate i ordered arrived shortly. I opted for a mixed plate (every ingredient i want, lah), but you can customise what you want, e.g., extra cuttlefish, no cockles. The sauce is a bit on the sweet side but fragrant with enough crushed peanuts to give a good consistency, not like some watery ones I have encountered. The vermicelli is al dente, not too soggy. In fact, most of the ingredients are slightly "under-cooked," the pork bits, port liver, and cuttlefish have a nice crunch to it. The cockles seem uncooked or just drenched in hot water, which is good with me. If you are squeamish about uncooked cockles, tell the auntie there to cook it longer or forego it, but what is satay behoon without cockles? This is one of the better satay beehoon I have come across, but I hope the stall could provide some condiments (light soya sauce and chilli padi, anyone?). Or maybe I missed it somewhere?

(1st November) Back again and tried the Cuttlefish Kangkong ($6.50) this time round. As the name suggests, the dish is mainly just cuttlefish and kangkong with chee cheong fun (rice noodle rolls) sauce and peanuts. Really tasty dish especially the chilli that comes along with it even it an extra kick. (17th October) Bought the satay beehoon ($4.50) for lunch. It contains all the ingredients you will find in the satay beehoon which are blood cockles, taupok, kangkong, beanspourt, cuttlefish, pig liver, sliced lean meat. A very good spread of ingredients at the price point of $4.50. The satay sauce for satay beehoon is slightly on the savoury side while still having some of the sweetness that we are familiar with. Not a commonly seen dish found in hawker centres so definitely give this dish a try if you are around the area.
