Contrary to some of the not so nice reviews here, my experience was more than amazing! I was served by a short hair auntie who was extremely kind. She asked me to sit down first while she get my order ready and was very courteous and polite. The chicken rice was so good, i ate there and dabao back some more! What a hidden gem, it is just a stone throw away from the famous Guan Yin temple, they must be very blessed. I noticed steady stream of customers joining the queue at the stall so it was busy but not like super long queue. When i ordered had like 2 person ahead but another auntie chopping the chickens was super efficient and nice. When she heard i was packing to keep for tomorrow she even rechop for me as the previous batch had cucumber (usually if keep with cucumber overnight food tends to spoil a bit faster) very touched by her kind gesture. They did everything in house, even the chilli was made from scratch saw them plucking loads of chillis. Had a nice citrusy aroma and the thickness is gaogao unlike usual watery chilli sauce. The rice is also very fragrant. Best is the braised egg which is also made inhouse, i had two on the spot very flavourful then i dabao 10 more home! It is braised egg party 😍. Im a frequent goer at chatterbox and i would say this comes closely at similar standard but much lower price. That same price of a set at chatterbox here will give you 3 rice, half a chicken, 10 braised eggs to go at $27. My plate of chicken thigh with 2 eggs was at $7.50, eggless at $5.50. The complimentary soup is also homecooked, not the usual msg soup we find at chix rice stall. This is my 3rd time there already and im defly coming back for more chicken rice and eggs!
