Adam Road Prawn Noodle

Doesn’t look like much but it’s the best prawn mee in SG. It’s a notch above the other Adam Rd one. The prawns are succulent and fresh, ribs are tender, noodles (no chili) are fragrant and well-seasoned but not overly salty. Soup broth is rich and flavourful. Prices are based on the size of the prawns. $20 for two big prawns felt a bit steep considering they didn’t taste particularly fresh. The noodles were well cooked and tasty, but the broth leaned more toward a porky flavour rather than a rich prawn stock.

Authentic prawn noodles to die for! Very flavoursome soup base with 海虾 (do order the $15 option, you won’t regret it). Uncle also has side orders like lala soup and freshly steam sotong with homemade chilli dip.

Exceed expectations- will be back again. Broth has rich umami with both seafood and meat taste. Resembles a tonkotsu broth but with even better execution in terms of ease of finishing up the entire bowl of soup and craved for more. Wasn’t expecting that actually and just wanted to pop by for lunch. The expectations for prawn noodle soup is a rather low bar with brown sort of flavoured broth heavily laced with MSG for most available stalls in food center. This is certainly different. Able to feel the passion and pride in delivering a REAL bowl of prawn noodles soup the way it should be done! I don’t feel thirsty too unlike the usual ones 👏🏻
