Good old school duck rice. Duck meat is very tender but normal. The saucy aromatic rice and the lime chilli is the winner. Made everything appetising. Come after 330pm to avoid queue as customers nonstop. Affordable price. I ordered the small one for only $4.00. Worth a visit for sure but not for more than 15'mins queue time.

The queue of 6 pax in front of me cleared in 15min. A standard plate cost $4 and I went for the 2 pax set for $13. Duck is soft & flavorful but the sauce is a tad too sweet for me & lacks any herbal notes. Soup is pretty tasteless, not sure if this is an exception. The auntie taking order is not smiley and can appear unfriendly but given the tough hawker work, cramp space and hot weather, it is understandable.

Still pretty much best in Singapore to me. Grew up with it since 20 odd years ago. It used to be a monthly once a sunday ritual in the family, until once i tasted something like duck faeces and stop eating braised duck for a while. I been to aplenty in singapore reccomended by our beloved countrymen and foodblogs, from ah xiao to long house, to even lesser known but pretty good ones hidden inside lao zhong zong ngoh hiong and non beats cheok kee. There is reason why they get michelin and not the others. At 330pm this hearty $4 plate rice is still piping hot. Thicken gravy with the right and precise notes, complementing chili condiment and the silky smooth and tender duck slice. Delectable. Correct last couple years, we find bone shards in the rice, becatse they mix leftover duck with good fatty ratio in to cook the yam rice. Nobody in sg will do that and sells you a plate for $4. Eat it while it still maintains its prices and standards, anything with a michelin goes downhill pretyy soon.

Braised duck rice that is pretty decent, but not worth queuing more than 5 mins for. The rice and gravy was nicely cooked and tasty without being overly salty. The duck meat was soft, but otherwise average. The accompanying soup was clear and held only a hint of herbs, much to my disappointment. The Michelin bib gourmet or whatever recommendation is overhyped in this case. There are better duck rice stalls without awards.

The epitome of duck rice in my opinion. Really good marinated duck and the meat is so tender and together with their signature sauce that blends so well with their Special “ Black Rice” It taste really exceptionally good. Generous in portion with a whole bird selling for S$30 and that comes with a pair of free liver to go with. No need to go for so called “ Michelin Book” recommendations. Just come try this stall and you would be pleasantly surprised. Cheers!
