About

Traditionally tossed egg noodles are served with barbecue pork, dumplings and vegetables, with a savoury sauce coating each strand. The dumplings are juicy and well-seasoned, while the char siu adds rich umami, resulting in a classic wanton noodle bowl that regulars favour.

Overall a good plate of wanton mee. Wanton noodles itself still had a bite to them despite being soft, chilli and sauce pairs well Char siew is the non roasted, red colouring type of char siew so take note Meat in the wantons were not too salty, taste was on point, still chunky and not overbeaten Soup is the normal stock kind but unique to this stall.

Average wanton mee. Noodles a bit hard, same goes for the wanton. The barbecue pork is OK though. Soup is pepperish and its sauce is also typical hawker standard. A bit salty and savory. No pork lard and small portions of vegetables. The chilli paste is a bit overpowering. Overall an average wanton noodles that costs $5 per portion.

Whenever I visit East Coast Lagoon Food Village, Hwa Kee’s wonton noodles is a must-have for me. The noodles are springy with a satisfying bite, and the lean char siew is tender with a slight char that blends beautifully with the sauce. Mixing everything together makes it extra delicious. I always go for the large portion, and though there’s usually a queue during peak hours, it’s definitely worth the wait. Rating: 8.8/10 😀👍👍

saw SG best food 2017 and gave this wanton mee a try. the noodle texture was fine and the bbq pork was soft and flavourful. the wanton thou prepared in front of me wasn't hot. it tasted like a frozen chunk which also had a bad taste.
