Yi Ji Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee

This is the other store that is facing the road. Queue moved quite fast during Sunday evening dinner, got my 2 plates within 5 mins. Compared to the others, the plate is not wet and lacks the wok hey taste. The prawn flavour is not that strong either and the pork tasted abit flat. The only saving grace is the flavoured sotong. There are better Hokkien mee around in this hawker centre

Delish wet HKM with super spicy chilli Wet version, (my preference) full with umami goodness and a decent breath of wok. And it comes with a super spicy chilli and freshly fried pork lard, when requested. Only complaint is that the broth is on the salty side. Otherwise it would have been a delish plate of HKM! Manned by an elderly couple who were friendly and apologetic about the long wait during the weekend lunch crowds. Will be back for more!

Solid plate of Hokkien Noodles Chilli is not for the faint hearted, it is indeed spicy Ask for more, if not enough Ordered the $8 played of Hokkien Mee Portion is sufficient for 2 pax Downed this in less than 20 mins!

Review for stall facing inside (01-73): Unfortunately didn't read the reviews before ordering. Concur with other reviews mentioning too much bee hoon, frozen prawns, pork lard that seems to have been fried and left out from 2 weeks ago. Pretty salty and left a dry taste in mouth after eating - lots of MSG used to replace natural prawn shell flavour? truly a waste of my 8 dollars😔😔😔 this meal made me sad. idk how it's possible to be worse than Nam Sing but this place managed that.

[PLEASE ENSURE YOU’RE REVIEWING FOR THE CORRECT STORE - HOLO STICKER ON PLATES] Now we’ve got that out of the way.. it’s sufficiently wet for me and the wok hey is not overpowering. Altho disappointed that there’s no pork lard, it’s a decent HKM. It’s nice that they switched fish cake to mock abalone (I think it’s more expensive?) but it doesn’t gel as well imo. It’s ready super quickly, a bit too quickly? Anyways, the food was still hot so reckon they were really that quick. Chilli is really spicy 🥵 All in all, decent HKM just not my style.
