Xin Mei Conge

Chanced upon this store while i was looking to have some pork n century egg porridge. The porridge is great! ( similar to the other reviews here). The surprise for me was the crispy toufu (its similar to thai style but source is not spicy, so i requested for some cut chilli). Its actually very good! Really crispy thin on the outside, and soft and light on the inside. Must try!

Saw many people trying their congee so decided to try their meatball +egg congee($5.20). Congee is smooth and thick. So tasty when eat with big crispy you tiao. Meatball is so tender and meaty. Overall 9/10.

Ordered the number 2 on the signboard — lean meat/meatball century egg congee ($5.50). The sliced meat was really thin & in small pieces & there weren’t any meatballs as listed. Topped up $1.70 (?) for add-ons (century egg bits, pickled peanuts & a raw egg). Total $7.20 …..

Excellent congee with generous ingredients. It’s so smooth and doesn’t leave you feeling thirsty after. You get a stick of you tiao with each bowl, complimentary, making this very worth it! I’ve tried several combinations and all have been good. Dare say this is one of my top congee spots.

Wanted something more soothing to the belly so I had the congee from here. Relatively okay standards for congee. Not too salty, but plain enough to feed your kid / elderly for sure. I ordered Meat Ball Congee ($5.50) with 6 big meat balls that are made from minced meat. Not the processed food kinds. It has a strong porkiness and good mouthfeel. Only a few pieces of fried dough sticks are cut and placed in your bowl. Pricing wise is on the high side as they charge +$1 for a raw egg. Add on $ for more dough sticks.
