Need to wait around 15 minutes even though there's not much queue. Satay taste good (I ordered pork satay), but was cold when it was served. (What's with the waiting time them??) The onions was chopped to small to put into mouth / poke with satay stick... why did they chop it so small size? The peanut sauce tasted great! And came with a bowl full. 80¢ for a stick, $1 for Ketupat. You minimally need to order 10 sticks. Some meat are not even in size on the stick. I got one stick with quite a small portion.

I didn’t take a pic but it was the worst satay I ever had. They already pre-grilled the satay and then they put it on the charcoal grill to heat them up again when you order. They don’t even heat them up enough so we didn’t even get warm satay. It was diabolical. You get is extremely dry and chewy meat, like jerky. It was honestly inedible and we threw majority of the plate away.

This is a stall that my family goes to for satay. I decided to check it out again after a period of absence. I ordered 10 pieces of pork satay and 2 rice cubes in January 2025. The pork satay is really small. Each stick costs 90 cents, and there's a minimum of 10 sticks. Despite the small portion, the taste is spot on, with a sweetness to it. Each cube of rice costs $1. The rice is too sticky. I don't really like the texture. Just a word of caution, the stall owner can be very temperamental. I actually spoke in Hokkien, which is his dialect, so that he's aware he's serving one of his "clansmen."

Not the usual stall that I always order from. Decided to give this place a try since it was just right next to our table. Satay comes in the form of Chicken, pork and Mutton. Each stick was 60cents except for the mutton which was 70cents. There is a minimum order of 10sticks. Be prepared to wait as they seem to have a large crowd of supporters moreover satay take some time to prepare. We ordered 5 chicken and pork satays each. Meat was nicely grilled; it wasn’t over cooked. Satay has a strong lemongrass taste somehow and the peanut sauce complimented it well.

Make no mistake, this Toa Payoh Satay is not at Toa Payoh. Instead it is in Old Airport Road Food Centre. There are quite a number of satay stall here, but I particularly like this one. While the meat on each stick looks smaller in portion, it is compensated by the taste. The only improvement I would suggest is the sauce - somewhat diluted and tasteless. Else it would be five star for sure.
