Golden Scissor Curry Rice is one of those places that proves comfort food doesn’t need refinement to be exceptional. The plate arrives messy in the best possible way—piled with pork chop, braised cabbage, egg, and that unmistakable ladle of thick, aromatic curry that ties everything together. The flavours are bold, homely, and deeply satisfying, with the curry striking that perfect point between savoury, mildly spicy, and slightly sweet. It’s the kind of meal that feels like it was made for people who actually eat, not just taste. And I’ll admit it upfront: I love this place, so my enthusiasm might be showing. But even acknowledging that bias, it’s hard not to appreciate how everything on the plate complements each other so naturally. The curry coats the rice perfectly, the pork chop has that crispy-soft balance, and the vegetables soak up just enough sauce to stay interesting without getting soggy. It’s honest food done extremely well—simple, comforting, and consistently delicious. This is the stall I return to without hesitation.
