Review of Famous Old Airport Fried Oyster (#01-101) We ordered the $10 3-in-1 oyster omelette with oysters, prawns, and squid. The owner was generous with the egg, but unfortunately the omelette lacked crispness and turned out too soft and soggy. The batter tasted heavy on tapioca flour, and it didn’t seem fully fried, which affected the overall texture. The prawns were overcooked and dry inside, and we were informed that the stall ran out of squid at the last minute. Overall, the texture didn’t work for me, and the flavours didn’t come together as expected. This plate wasn’t to my liking, and I left feeling rather disappointed.

Fantastic plate of orh luak. The portion of egg to starch is well balanced and it’s fried to crispy perfection. For the $7 portion, it offered a reasonable amount of oysters. The plate will not be complete without drizzling the chili all over. The wait was less than 10mins at 7pm on a weekday night. Recommend that you try this!

Love love love the fried oysters here. It’s the slightly more crispy type, which is my favourite. The ratio of starch to eggs was perfect. The chili was really good as well, as an accompaniment to the dish. No wonder they close quite early, just a little over 1pm as they have finished selling out.

It’s famous for a very good reason. The owners were super friendly. The food more than reasonably priced; the Fried Oyster omelette and the accompanying chilli sauce was utterly delicious. A must try for first time seafood loving visitors to the Old Airport Food Centre as we were. There’s so much to try here, but It would be very easy to just just keep coming back here!

My favourite orh luak. Perfect balance of wokhei, egg, starch and umami. This still tastes as good even when ordered as takeaway.
