Dropped by Heng Heng Ondeh-Ondeh & Tapioca Cake today, and the quality really stood out. The ondeh-ondeh was excellent. soft and chewy with a generous gula melaka filling that burst perfectly with each bite. Freshly made and fragrant, just the way it should be. The tapioca cake was equally good. It had a nice, firm texture without being too dense, and the natural sweetness of the tapioca came through beautifully. Not oily, not overly sticky just well balanced and satisfying. One thing to note: they are cash only, so be sure to have some on hand. Overall, both the ondeh-ondeh and tapioca cake were especially good today. A great stop if you’re in the mood for traditional treats done right.

I am not a fan of such keuh keuh but always heard about this legendary stall for their super soft and moist tapioca cakes. Walked past early due to work and figured I might as well give it a shot. Can give away if I hated it. Gotta admit its really soft and texturally pleasing? Its not super annoyingly chewy which is what i hate. In fact its so soft you can easily cut it with the satay stick. I'm throughly impressed and might change my opinion of keuh kueh going forward.

This stall probably has the best ondeh ondeh in Singapore. Perfect skin to filling ratio. Plus, unlike most others with a hardened filling, these have a satisfying, bursting center 爆浆. It has been years since I've had them, and I truly can't find a close second, which is why I don't eat ondeh ondeh anywhere else. When I arrived at 11:30am on a weekday, they had already stopped sale of a la carte pieces and everything was only available in pre-packed boxes. Thankfully, there was no queue, but a line started to form right after I made my purchase. I believe they would sell out by 12:30pm I was heng Heng, pun intended, to be able to snag all 3 of signature kuehs today - ondeh ondeh, tapioca cake, and kueh kosu. They were 80 cents per piece, but only 70 cents per piece when bought in the box set. All of them tasted so fresh and yummy, exactly like what I remembered. Just be sure to bring cash, as they are cash-only.

Were here in the morning for breakfast. Ordered the tapioca and kueh kosui mix pack cost $3.70 for 5 pieces in total. Kueh kosui has lots of gula melaka taste whereas tapioca cake was soft and melt in the mouth, with very fresh coconut flakes scattered generously. Would try their other varieties next time.

Mr. Ang's entrepreneurial journey began in 1986, when he took the reins of his mother's Authenticity Nonya( (in Malaysia and Singapore) a Singaporean cuisine consisting of a combination of Malay and Chinese ingredients and techniques,) Kueh a business that had been thriving since 1960 in the vibrant China Square. Today, Mr. Ang successfully oversees the stall at Maxwell Hawker Centre, where Heng Heng Ondeh Ondeh and Tapioca Cake are crowd favorites. The Ondeh Ondeh is a highly sought-after treat that requires pre-booking; its gula Melaka filling is a delightful surprise with every bite. Another standout is their Kueh Kosui, extremely soft to the bite. Generously coated with grated coconut. Other must-try items include their colorful layer Kueh and Pulut Inti, a unique glutinous rice dish infused with butterfly pea flower and topped with grated coconut and palm sugar. To ensure a satisfying experience, visiting early is recommended, as they are closed on weekends. Some of the photos are courtesy of Johor Kaki
