Very bad Hokkien mee. Not sure what the hype. Saw the queue and decided to try. I think the queue is long because it moves so slowly. The mee is very salty and lacks the depth of a good broth. plate of sodium laden noodles in a nutshell.

📍Maxwell Hawker • Fresh cockles fried kway teow • Fried Hokkien prawn noodles • Black carrot cake The Hokkien mee here is really good. The queue took around 20 minutes, but it was definitely worth the wait

Had the Fried Oyster from this stall many times. This time round, ordered it from another stall and did a comparison. The one from this stall, in white plate, tasted more flavourful, and the oyster was bigger and fresher compared to the other shall in Maxwell market. They are not open everyday though. The old lady said they are closed on Wednesdays but sometimes closed on other days too. You will get to try it when they open. 😅 but I would strongly recommend u try the Fried Oyster from this stall.

Carrot cake was decent, but fried oyster was horrible. Food was burnt, with random clumps of salt in the egg. Oyster was non existent. Kueh was hard and had a weird texture. Would not recommend eating from this store unless you enjoy eating leftover char from the wok from who knows when. Photo of the fried oyster was with flash. Chilli provided isn’t like the usual chilli sauce with vinegar. Hope visitors do not try this and get the wrong impression of Singapore hawker food. Long wait as well.

The fried kway teow was good, and the fried hokkien prawn noodle was just the average. Fried kway teow is a must if you happen to come here. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
