I visited the store after work and there was already a queue forming. If you're in a rush, do note that both queueing and food preparation will take some time, but it's worth the wait! I ordered the pork belly, and it looked absolutely gorgeous when it arrived. With the first bite, I found the pork to be incredibly soft. I particularly loved how they plated the dish with pickled vegetables; it's a unique touch you don't often see elsewhere and it really complemented the dish.

My mom and I tried the belly bowl set and it was delicious and offered value for money. Uncle was also very nice! Would definitely come back next time I go to Singapore.

As they say picture are for illustrative purposes only and it is true. No green veg but cucumber and pickle cucumber. Small does not have egg or whatever else is there. Rice like broken rice of vietnam. Fusion led to confusion unfortunately.

This could be a signature dish, featuring tender, slow-braised pork belly served over a bed of rice with rich, savory sauces some pickled vegetables and a soft-boiled egg on the side to balance the flavors. The long braising process would allow the fat to render and the meat to absorb all the bold flavors, resulting in a dish that's juicy and deeply savory. The combination of juicy, melt-in-your-mouth braised pork with bold seasonings and accompaniments would make it a hit at Maxwell Food Centre. What I order ? Belly Bowl $5 Egg $1 Recommend 7/10 Remind me of a story The Comfort of Home in a Bowl" Once upon a time, there was a young chef who had traveled far from home to chase culinary dreams. Though excited to explore new cuisines, he often found himself longing for the simple, comforting meals his grandmother used to make—especially her braised pork belly. It was a dish that filled the house with warmth, the rich aroma drawing everyone to the table. In his travels, the chef tasted extraordinary flavors from all over the world, but nothing came close to the feeling that his grandmother’s braised pork gave him. So, he set out to recreate it. After countless attempts, tweaking the recipe with his own bold ideas, he finally struck the perfect balance: tender, slow-braised pork belly that melted in your mouth, with a depth of flavor that brought both comfort and excitement. He decided to share this dish with others, opening a small stall at a bustling food center. His Belly Bowl became famous for bringing that same feeling of warmth and satisfaction to every customer who tried it. For many, it wasn’t just a meal—it was an experience that reminded them of the power of food to connect people with their memories, their loved ones, and their roots. The story highlights how a simple dish can evoke powerful feelings of nostalgia and belonging, while also being bold and innovative.
