Alipapa Briyani x Alimama Green Chilli Chicken Rice

Happened to chance upon this shop, was craving briyani. Thinking it’s in a tourist spot, how good can it be? But I’m shocked ah, the portions are big and generous. The amount of food matches the price point. Taste wise the briyani rice has the right amount of spice. The lamb shank was huge, tender and fall off the bone, It was not gamey and it doesn’t have that freezer thawed taste to it. The best part ? It’s not dry and overcooked. I don’t even have to struggle to get the meat off the bone. The rice is cooked perfectly and the sauce compliments the dish perfectly. The amount of meat was really generous and I thought I’m getting a lamb shank with mostly bones. But this place does it the right way ! With tons of meat. A must try for first timers and I look forward to my second time back here.

Having heard very excellent reviews, we came down to try for ourselves. To our expectations, the food delivers a pack of punch where the mixture of rice, gravy and meat all blends in to make a good dish. To top it off, the green chilli is the icing of the cake. Will definitely recommend to friends and family to come down more frequently!! Worth the money

Passionless. Taste is ok. Generous portion of mutton. Soft. But taste rough. Rice is...hmm. Tiny portion, not fresh achar. I feel quiet sad while eating this. Maybe my is the tongue problem? Not sure. But for SGD 9 its okay overall.

Good portion, lots of bryani rice and mutton given was generous. It was tender and full of flavour.

Patronise this stall for dinner & despite its name, appeared to be ran by a pair of elderly Chinese couple. Order the chef recommended Green Chilli Chicken Rice at S$7.50. Rice served with vege very similar to longtong vege comprising cabbage, carrot, brinjal, etc. a generous piece of chicken thigh coated with some sort of green chiili paste. The rice is normal of sufficient quantity for a single person. Vege is well cooked & a little soggy especially the brinjal. The chicken is also thoroughly cooked, no “residual” of blood & right side of tenderness. I found the chilli a little underwhelming but might suit people who don’t fancy spicy better. In conclusion, quite a decent deal & paired very well with my tea-O
