The portion size is quite generous for two, and the dish was well-cooked and very tasty. Chicken, Chinese sausage, salted fish were used generously. Definitely worth a try. Delicious and highly recommend!

Ordered one for 2 pax to eat. Same complaint about not getting cutleries to share for a small family of 3. I find it very ridiculous to not allow customers to have even 1 more extra bowl. If you have a legit reason, please display it out for us to see. If not we will all just think you’re ridiculous for denying us cutleries for our kid to eat with us from the same stall. Went on a peak hr, weekday night. Food was nice, & This stall tastes better than Alexandra hawker’s claypot rice. But because of the cutlery issue, it’ll be my First & Last visit.

Ordered $15 portion for 2 person Rice cooked to perfection with claypot fragrance. Generous amount of chicken and ingredients. Try avoid peak hours. Ordered at 2pm and was served within 15 minutes. For those who gave poor reviews due to their control of cutleries have to be understanding as most of the stalls there do control as well and most also do not provide extra plates or bowls due to cost incurred for washing services.

My favourite claypot rice in Singapore, however, something must have snapped in the brains of the people running the shop. I get that there’s a sign that says no additional bowls will be given. However, you can’t expect a family of 3 with a 3yo to eat with just 2 bowls and 2 sets of utensils? When I said I had a kid and needed an additional bowl, the dude in grey said “don’t need to explain”. Seriously? What’s the logic behind that? You expect us to order 3 pax portion to get 3 bowls? You expect a 3yo child to eat a full adult portion of food? Sad to say, I’ll never be returning to this shop. And would not recommend anyone to try in the future, not because their food is bad, but because I cannot support a business that is arrogant and not customer-centric.

I’ve always enjoyed claypot rice and decided to try Yew Chuan Claypot Rice at Golden Mile Hawker Centre again. Unfortunately, this will be my last visit. We ordered a small claypot rice (around $15) to share between three people and politely requested one more set of cutlery. The lady at the stall replied rather rudely, saying, “You only order $15, we only give two sets, no extra.” It wasn’t about the cutlery — it was the tone and attitude that were completely unnecessary. In a hawker centre setting, a bit of friendliness and basic customer service go a long way. Instead, we felt unwelcome and embarrassed for just asking a simple request. Food might be decent, but when the service makes you feel this way, it spoils the whole experience.
