Kok Kee Wonton Noodle (Golden Mile)

Initially wanted to try other stall but they were already sold out for the day. Decided to give this wanton noodle stall a try instead. there was a short queue but it moved pretty fast. This is a well established brand and have tried their other outlets before. Price for the wanton noodle starts from SGD5.5 onwards. I ordered their wanton noodle with less chili. The noodle was nicely cooked and the texture of the noodle was springy. The special sauce is what sets it apart from other. Charsiew was average but the wanton was quite decent. Overall, the quality of the wanton noodle has dropped since it was taken over. Would i go back again, probably not.

I used to eat this almost everyday during my pregnancy term over 9 months and so I can vividly remember the original taste. Since it has changed hands, although the name has not changed, the taste and texture is not really the same. The texture of this outlet’s noodle is a bit too chewy and sticky to taste. Nonetheless, the gravy/sauce has retained its original flavour! Sauce is not thick but its the soupy kind. The sweetness is rather umami as I can’t quite make out what that umami is. Well, at least the one manning this outlet does serve with a sullen face which was the founder’s signature face-mode.

Pleasantly surprised by Kok Kee Wanton Noodles! I honestly didn’t expect it to be this good. The noodles were nicely cooked , springy and QQ, and not overly oily like some places. Really enjoyable! The wantons were a little on the small side, and it was a bit disappointing that they didn’t provide cut green chilli, which I usually love with my noodles. That said, the overall taste more than made up for it, flavourful, satisfying, and definitely worth the calories. Will happily return for another plate!

I've always been a fan of Kok Kee Wanton Mee, and this outlet does not disappoint! The noodles are springy, the char siew is tender and flavorful, and the wantons are packed with juicy goodness. The vendor is very slow . Taking Thier own sweet time . There no people Infront of me . I ordered 1 plate of the signature noodles ., take up to 15min to prepare. 2 people prepare 1 plate need take 15min?
