Noodle portion is really little and definitely not enough for adult males. 1.5 medium prawns. Taste is ok. Standard HKM flavor, won't give goosebumps. Chilli tastes a little spoilt. It's the dry type so better don't takeaway lest it becomes a giant clump

Flavours were passable. Wok hei flavour is prominent, but prawn flavour is average at best. Noodles were on the dry side. Unfortunately, there was only one prawn in my prawn noodles. This was $5. They are popular enough to have a queue, and for the chef to berate me for not indicating that I only wanted one serving when ordering -- apparently, everyone else orders multiple servings. The good news is that the small serving meets the needs of diners who do not eat much. It also frees up gut space for one to have a consolatory second breakfast. There are other prawn noodle stalls to try at this Food Centre.

I got to know about this place from the Hokkien Mee Hunting FB page. I usually prefer the wet type of Hokkien Mee, but I decided to give this a try after reading numerous rave reviews and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. This is an old-school plate of Hokkien Mee with a mild wok hei. For $5, I got two fresh prawns, and the noodles are loaded with generous portions of pork and sotong strips. The noodles were cooked al dente, with the prawn stock infused into them. It would be good to have pork lard, and the sambal chilli could be spicier. Although I'm still not a convert to Dry Hokkien Mee, I wouldn't mind having this again if there's no queue, like today.

For $5, it is not worth ordering. Only 1.5 prawns as per most of the 1-star reviewers’ feedback. This mee is fried dry and no “zhap” (ie gravy) — it could be the sauce has been absorbed by the vermicelli and noodles. The chili paste has zero “kick”& taste is forgettable. I think the couple should spend their time to travel and enjoy their remaining years since we could not taste their passion & soul into his cooking.

Noodles tasted bland with alkaline taste, no wok hei, no lard to be seen, no stock flavour. Not sure if it was due to a huge wok of noodles being fried together, but the plate I had was 4/10 at best.
