Chef Choo Signature

Ordered the seafood pasta portion for 2 prices at around $15. The portion was extremely huge and worth it! Lots of pasta and ingredients such as big and juicy prawns, mussles and clams. I would say the pasta is almost al dente and the seafood broth had a strong and pronounced taste.

Probably really only 3 stars for atmosphere, because it's a hawker centre setting, but can't ding the vendor for that! I had the signature seafood spaghetti and it came sizzling hot. It's very, very good for the price...not the cheap sweet bland tomato sauce you'd normally get at a Western store, it's garlicky and flavoursome. Seafood tasted fresh and good big meaty pieces (I got a prawn, a few clams, a mussel and something else I didn't recognise out of it's shell, but it was very yummy and meaty). Pasta was cooked just right for me (not too al dente, not too soft) and service was friendly and quick. Want to come back to try the bolognese. I came at 4pm so it was very quiet in the market, but still a couple of folk in the queue.

This is my first try on their Carbonara pasta spaghetti and I am loving it. The spaghetti is al-dente, the carbonara sauce is the soul of the whole dish, creamy and flavourful with the bacon. This carbonara pasta with the affordable price is worthy for anyone to come and try it. I am looking forward to try their aglio olio in my next visit!

I love the food here; tried almost everything on the menu and I’ve never been disappointed! I love the pasta dishes, especially the aglio olio — a dish so hard to perfect — yet, perfectly spiced & oiled. All other meat dishes are also seasoned very well. His specials menu is also worth trying! Definitely one of our favourite go-to for my husband and I when we crave for pasta/western dishes. I think another plus point is that the chef is also very friendly. I can see his passion and his efforts that go into cooking every dish, which we appreciate. We don’t live nearby but it’s definitely worth the trip down :)

Makansutra was SPOT ON when KF Seetoh described it as wok hei in a pasta. I tasted it today too. The carbonara pasta sauce is soooo good i found myself wanting more and pasta noodles al dente. Can’t wait to be back for more. Long snaking queue during lunch and you don’t need to wonder why. Thank you Chef Choo for bringing delicious AND affordable locally-adjusted pasta to the masses!
