The sticker saying ‘Top Ten Dou Suan’ attracted me to give this a try. However, it was a bit disappointing. This is quite mediocre although the taste and viscosity of the Dao Suan is well balanced . The You Tiao can be more fresh and crispy too.

Pin Wei Dessert in Bedok hawker centre lives up to the "grumpy owner, long queue" stereotype, but with a delicious twist! There were at least three other dessert stalls nearby, yet Pin Wei was the only one with a line. This intrigued me, and after observing the popular choice, I went for the cheng teng at $2.50. The wait was definitely worth it! The ice was shaved perfectly fine, and the portion size was generous. What truly impressed me were the premium ingredients, especially the dried Persimmon, which you don’t usually find in  hawker settings.

You can be sure of the dessert by looking at how long is the queue. The queue just continue on and on and on during peak hours. Just be precise with your order (hot/cold and eat-in or take away), the stall owner can make the order efficiently. Their customer mainly supported by neighborhood and elderly. Many options to choose from, from hot to cold, traditional to fruity iced. I ordered the bobo cha cha $2.80 and cheng teng $2.50. It’s by far the best bbcc that I have tried in hawker, the container is stuffed with generous amount of sweet potato, yam and other colorful bbcc jelly. The coconut milk added to the shaved ice is not overly sweet and goes so well with everything in it. Same with cheng teng, packed with generous ingredients and surprisingly the fragrant still there when I reheat it the next day. I think it’s the all time fav stall, I would like to try hot tow suan the next time around. Highly recommend for dine in and also take out.

Pin Wei Dessert stores serves authentic hawker style of hot and cold desserts. The green bean soup and Pulut Hitam are not too sweet. Goes well after a meal, or have it alone at the Hawker Centre.

Best icekachang and dessert hawker stall in east of Singapore, imho. The ice is fine, and the syrup is flavorful, with generous amounts of red bean and sweet corn. Well worth the queue. Service is brisk but decent. Accepts cash only so be prepared.
