IG: @melvineateat Xiao Long Bao ($5.50 for 7, $7 for 10) 6.5/10 - Filling was good and well marinated, but inconsistent some had a lot of soup some didn’t have and skin was abit thick for my liking. Preferred the one at Zion road. Guo tie ($7 for 10) 8/10 - This fared so much better. Once again filling was great, pork and chives, really juicy with well pan seared skin. I guess for Guo tie the thicker skin helped preserve the structure and each bite was so juicy.

Ordered Xiao Long Bao and Hong You Chao Shou Xiao Long Bao (10pcs for $7) Thick skin, bland filling, not salty and not flavourful. There was a few drops of soup. Pathetic looking XLB. Never had such a bad XLB before. Avoid. Hong You Chao Shou: Wontons were filled with veggie instead of pork. Bland sauce instead of the flavourful salty, sour and spicy sauce. Avoid. We didn't finish. The food was so bad, we threw half away. Shop was filthy and you can see that they don't bother to clean the shop. Black stains on the wall.

Authentic Chinese food at affordable prices. La Mian dishes are nicely portioned to make a filling meal, using thicker white noodles that taste home made and have a springy, chewy texture. The soup and toppings are flavourful without being overpowering or spicy, making the meal easy to finish. Xiao long bao is also done well here, with thinly folded skin wrapped over a soft morsels of seasoned minced pork. This goes nicely with the vinegar and tangy chilli sauce available at the serving counter. Other dishes such as the crispy red bean pancake, and generously stuffed boiled or fried pork dumplings are also delicious and cooked freshly upon ordering.

Dumpling skins were slightly too thick, filling meat to chive ratio was a little off, not enough chili oil. Store cleanliness was not the best.

Zha jiang mian's portion was good, enough minced meat and shredded cucumber was fresh. 老板娘 will also ask if want chilli inside or not. Affordable xlbs but wish there was a little more soup in them. Else, it's a good quick xlb fix if craving for reasonably priced ones. 老板娘 was also very very friendly and quick to prep the items, despite it being end of day already. 😊🫶
