Ah Er Soup

Queue formed b4 12noon so I went to order as well. Fast moving and I ordered Buddha jump over the wall for $7. Godly Sweetness of abalone... Or was it bamboo shoot. Regardless it is damn naturally sweet. Not sure it is the best but it is certainly godly things u don't see is the dry scallops. Pros Chicken. Probably the most tender over cooked? Chicken. Although it might because I gotten the tight. Regardless with infused soup it was awesome. Fish maw. All soaked up with the flavorful broth. Mushroom. Surprisingly not tough. Anw dip in chili light soya for some kick but not exact necessary. Although I do find it a good option for added dimensions. Con. Abalone is chewy. But the taste more than made up for it.

Great selection of soups with generous ingredients at great prices. The options start to run out around late noon to early evening, so head down earlier if you’re hoping to choose your preferred soup. Expect to queue at lunch time as this is a neighbourhood favourite. The popular pumpkin rice is also recommended while it lasts, and it pairs great with the meat and veggies in the soup and dark soy with chili padi dip. Satisfying and revitalising.

The Guide Michelin app came to my mind, leading me to the closest Michelin Gourmet Bib restaurant. • Located within ABC Food Centre, this place houses several renowned food vendors. Despite passing by Ah Er Soup on multiple occasions, I never patronised them before. 🫢. To my surprise, I discovered this unassuming eatery featured on the Michelin app. • Ah Er Soup sets itself apart by priding on its MSG-free soups. Eager to explore their menu, I decided to order their Buddha Jump Over The Wall, or 极品佛条墙 🍲. While other herbal soup offerings are widespread, this dish promised a unique experience. • The dish featured a medley of ingredients such as Fish Maw 🤤, Abalone, Chicken, and bits of Mushroom. • Although its ingredient are far from the authentic. This marked my first and closest encounter with the famous Buddha Jump Over The Wall dish. 😂 • Prior to this visit, my only reference for this dish was from Stephen Chow's movie "The God of Cookery 食神." 😅 • With another Michelin Gourmet Bib spot explored and enjoyed, I look forward to the next eatery where my appointments will bring me.

This stall usually has a queue. My usual order is the lotus-pork ribs soup with rice, and it ranks in my top 3 list. Soup is good, meat is tender, and overall taste is not overpowered by cuttlefish taste.
