Tried the newly open shop in Bangkit. Decent experience, but some inconsistencies. The fish was fresh and tasty, but the soup lacked flavour and didn't meet expectations. Service was also slow - 15 minutes to order and 20 minutes to collect food, which felt unnecessary given the shop wasn't that busy.

Came here for dinner and tried the mixed fish soup with ee mian and an egg. Pretty large amount of food so 7$ seems fair. Amount of fish is p solid and both fried and boiled are tasty. Like the chili sauce too. Overall quite good and will come back but not too special either.

Not too bad a fish soup option. Straightforward menu with a few main choices and additional add on choices. Soup was good and tasty - fish slices both fried and non fried were tender and tasty too. Store accepts CDC vouchers too which is a plus.

With a recipe that's decades old, Tai Seng Fish Soup is comfort and heritage in a bowl😊 the family business (named after the first generation, Tai Seng) first started in Jurong and has since expanded to Ghim Moh and Clementi. The recipe from the 1950s has been refined and passed down over the years and very truly, tastes homely. It has been awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand 2023. The chilli style is unique to this family. According to the stall owner, his grandmother dipped fish in Sambal instead of the usual soy sauce with chilli padi. True enough, the tang was so refreshing and delicious! Soy sauce is still available as an option but I strongly recommend that you try the sambal😉 Unlike most shops that have four humble slices, Tai Seng Fish Soup packs 6 thick slices of succulent batang. The fried fish is prepped without a batter, and helps to retain the clear refreshing taste of the broth and more importantly, stays crisp. To spice things up, each bowl gets a generous portion of Fried Egg as well. Truely a rare gem in a hawker!!

Chance upon this stall whilst looking for dinner at Ghim Moh Market & Food Centre. To be honest, what caught my attention is the Michelin sign … and my oh my, this is clearly a case of ‘misleading advertisement’. Did a bit of research & found that Tai Seng Fish Soup was indeed list in Michelin Bib Gourmand but that’s for the outlet at Taman Jurong Market & Food Centre - Michelin listing is location specific, not meant for every branches/ outlets under the same ownership! Anyway, let’s talk about the food - one word ‘meh’. The soup tasted ok, nothing special. In fact, it has some ‘bad fishy’ taste … most likely due to the (lack of) freshness of the fish. Tried both the sliced fish & fried fish - both bad; the sliced fish worse as it’s clearly not fresh. The service is also poor - super slow & the lady doesn’t seem pleased to be doing what she does. In short, don’t be ‘tricked’ by the Michelin sign … in fact, the stall should just take down the sign, would definitely be giving a slightly rating as my expectations will be lower then.
