Chinatown Porridge

Glutinous rice consisted of mushroom. A little mushy and of average taste. 4* Chee Cheong Fun had a slight toothy bite to it. 4.5* Yam cake was a star. Smooth texture with yam bits. 5* They also offer a variety of porridge. Friendly old couple operating with little queue

I was quite surprised that 2 Chee Cheong Fun and 1 Yam Cake could cost $4.40 (later realizing the Yam Cake was $2 per piece). The texture of both the Chee Cheong Fun and Yam Cake was good, but the plain sauce let them down. It had a healthy, light, and less sweet taste, which is not my preference. That said, I appreciate the many hawkers who start their preparations early in the morning so that early birds like me can enjoy a hearty breakfast.

Love their silky smooth chee cheong fun which goes well with their tasty sweet and chilli sauce. Their claypot liver is a must order dish, their wine sauce is heavenly 😋

Best Cheong fun and Yam cake. The sweet sauce and chilli mixed is perfect. Their porridge and clay pot mixed or liver alone is excellent

Don't know why they have such good reviews for serving mediocre food. The yam cake is tasteless, Chee cheong fun comes without sesame seeds topping.. porridge is also below par. Waste of money and calories.
